Hi everyone ! We are "ImpPro3D" a french project group from the Ecole Centrale de Lille and we work on a special version of the Original Mendel which is designed for researchers. We aim to propose an open source 3D printer which provide a fully-change-parameter user interface. This interface will give the possiblity to the researcher to change the diameter of the filament, the temperature of the heaters and the bed, the througthput of plastic, etc...
Actually, we find out that the electronics provided with the Mendel was a RAMPS1.4, but it heated a lot when it was functionning and it simply crashed... So we design a new PCB (larger than the previous) based on L298 drivers for the stepper motors used for the printer and an Arduino MEGA 2560.
We are currently running tests on the machine and we have some troubles with the motor part. There are some PCB errors and software mistakes. We provide our PCB file and our Arduino program on our web site at this address : [sites.google.com] (the program file is "command_brut.ino" in the page "Pôle Matériel") We are sorry but our website is for the moment in French !)
If anyone thinks about it in the following days, please contact us at this mail address : imppro3d@googlegroups.com and don't hesitate to post a com' on this forum to help other users of the Original Mendel !
Thank you all !
