Hi,I just show you how the program the ramps 1.4 with LCD 2004 controller,I use the Ramps 1.4 + A4988 + Mega2560 R3 + Endstop + Cooler Fan Kit For RepRap 3D Printer
The first thing I do is check the mega board to confirm that if it works fine.I plugged the USB cable on the Arduino 2560,and run a small program to test the board.As it is know to all,the mega2560 board is not just for the 3D printer technology.Then I found the mega board works fine.

Of course,I have install the driver arduino 1.0.1 successfully before.This time I just need to debug the ramps kit.
In the Arduino 1.0.1 software, I chose the Arduino Mega 2560 board and the good Serial Port (COM1,Mine is COM1,yours may be not .)
I oppened the arduino 1.0.1 software,and file-->open---(C:\arduino-1.0.1\examples\Marlin).
Here is the download Link of the debugged software,you need not change any of the files or the project code,just launch and upload.Premise is that you have install the driver successfully.

Then I launched the upload.You can download the software and compile.If you have not connect your computer with the ramps kit.You just could get through the compile successfully,but you could not upload the program.
