I've had a Prusa Mendel for about a year now, and I'm thinking of building an i3 in the near future. I've also toyed with the thought of building a Rostock printer instead. Is the Rostock design mature to the point that it's a serious contender or am I better to stick with the tried and true i3? I've heard that delta printers aren't uniform in their positional accuracy as you move to different areas of the print surface. Is this the case?
WRT to the i3, I think I would like to slightly increase the print area to around 300mm x 300mm. It seems to me that I could accomplish that by simply enlarging the frame, metal rods, belts, and bed. Am I missing something here or is it that simple? Of course I'd have to configure my firmware for the new print area.
