I have a reprap prusa, wade extruder, 3mm abs and .5 nozzle.
I am having a problem that I can't figure out. My prints show a wave pattern along the X axis on both vertical sides (I included a not so great image). I can't figure out what is causing it. It seems to be on a pretty uniform 4.5 layer cycle (on a 72 layer print there are 16 wave cycles). Nothing seems to make sense to explain it. I thought it might be the glass plate on my printer being jostled around, but that really wouldn't explain the cycle and when I put more clamps (all the way around) it made no real difference. Most everything else about the print is ok, but I can't get rid of these waves.
Does anybody have any suggestions? I would think it has to be mechanical since it cycles over several layers fairly constantly. The vertical surfaces along the Y axias are not perfect, but don't show the same pattern. I have another extruder (micro) that I have ready to put on, but I don't see how it can be the extruder.
