Now I am trying to print with ABS for the first time.
I've gotten white ABS filament (3mm) from some eBay vendor (their price was really good), and tried to print a small test piece with it tonight.
when I extrude the plastic into the air (let it drop, instead of printing on the heated plate), I noticed some popping sound. I can actually see what looks like a burst of little bubble - it makes the extruded plastic not very smooth. With PLA, the extruded plastic was very smooth. I have attached a picture.
Is this simply how ABS is? Or, would it be an indication of some faulty setup, like wrong temperature? Or, does it simply mean low quality of the filament?
