First off, sorry if this has already been addressed. If it has, feel free to call me stupid and link to it.
Anyways, I'm having an issue with my RepRap prusa l2 running with a Gen6 board with a jhead/gregs extruder. Everything is running great: steppers move nicely, the bed heats up (I did have to make a separate setup for that) and the hot end heats up, However, I'm having issues with solid prints. Right now, I'm just using the two basic 20mm and 0.5mm boxes from this page. The 0.5mm thin wall boxed prints beautifully! No bump in the side, layer height is perfect, and no odd drooping on any sides.
However, when I go to print the 20mm solid box, things start going sideways. It varys between two results: either I get a very, VERY thing layer of ABS on the bed: so thin, its flakes off. Second result is a 20mm square thats about 0.4mm think, and can be removed. either way, there comes a point where the hotend is too far from the cube to keep printing, so I [obviously] just stop the print, remove the failed part, and retry.
I have tried a few things: changing the temp of the hotend up a bit, loosen (and tightened) the tension on the extruder idler, and adjusted a few of the infill settings in sfact (though, I think this isn't doing anything...)
Sorry again if this is already been addressed, and sorry that is probably a really stupid obvious question.
But many thanks in advance for any help!
