I use the skirt feature on all my prints to condition the extruder before moving into the part when I print PLA. Our hotends tend to drool a little at the start since I run a little hot due to print speeds.
With the latest slic3r I have (0.9.9-dev) when I leave the layer setting at zero I get no skirt. If I set the skirt layer to one, I get the proper skirt. However, it then doesn't start the actual print until the next layer up. So the part is started above the bed.
Is there a setting that I have missed?
Thanks,
Mike
